Alberta Theatre Projects is a great place to catch a musical, particularly Evil Dead The Musical, which is a campy and ridiculous show that's worth seeing. One of the highlights of the show is the splatter zone, where audience members can get drenched in fake blood, but it's up to you to decide whether to take the risk.

Hot Water Music and The Menzingers are can't miss shows every time they roll through Calgary. The mix in that place was absolutely perfect last night, and when Hot Water started playing Remedy it felt like they sucked all the air out of the room.

The Plaza in Kensington is always a good time, with a crowd that actually gets into it with props and callbacks instead of just sitting there. For a midnight showing of Rocky Horror, The Plaza is the place to be, with tickets available for purchase through their website.

High Line Taproom is hosting a Halloween party with DJs and dancing from 6pm till midnight on the 31st. Plenty of 30+ers will be in attendance, making it a great spot for those looking for a fun and lively atmosphere.
