Canopies in Balboa Park?

Canopies in Balboa Park?
Other 7 answers • Alexis Martel
I visited Balboa Park today and saw a large canopy set up in front of the Botanical Building and Lily Pond area. It blocks the view and interferes with the vendors and flow of the area. Is this allowed and is it something the city should regulate?

I'm against vending in parks or beaches, and this canopy spoils the natural beauty of the area. It's fine for special events, but I think it ruins the magic of our green spaces.

I'm trying to picture Jesus is Islam sign at Black's Beach with a bunch of 60-year-olds soaking up the sun and getting a tan.

Even when the city tries to crack down on street vendors, the appeals court will often overturn it, keeping our city looking like a flea market.

In June, the city's designated 'free speech' areas were indeed marked by blue brackets.

100% agree, spread your propaganda elsewhere.

Zoom in on the picture and you'll see the blue brackets marking the park-designated 'free speech' areas set by the city.

This isn't new, but it's still dumb and pollutes our parks and beaches.
