Oye for the AC just ask your landlord first, they always have someone they trust for that. That's the quickest way.
If they don't help, search in the Facebook group "Playa del Carmen Services & Recommendations" — literally type "AC repair" and you'll find like 50 recommendations. There's also apps now, Hogar a Tu Mano and InstaFix, basically Uber but for plomeros and electricistas.
For the AC specifically — most of the time it's just dirty filters or needs more gas (refrigerant). A cleaning and service call runs $500-800 MXN. If they need to recharge the gas it's $800-1500 MXN. Not bad.
The important thing: before they touch anything, ask "¿cuánto me cobra?" Get the price first. Some guys will start working and then hit you with a crazy number. If they send you the price by WhatsApp even better — you have proof.
For other stuff you might need:
- Plomero (plumber): $300-600 pesos + parts
- Electricista: $300-500 pesos + parts
- Full AC install: $8,000-15,000 pesos
- Cleaning lady: $250-400 per visit for a 1-2 bedroom, 3-4 hours of work. Ask your neighbors or the building admin who they use
Basically everything here is word of mouth bro. Ask the neighbors, ask in Facebook groups, ask at the tiendita on the corner. Someone always knows someone.

Agua de Coco 100%
I love fresh, local, organic coconut water, but in most fruterías in Playa del Carmen it's often mixed with water or, even worse, not fresh, and I end up throwing it away even when the bottle is still full (after paying at least 70–75 pesos). This is the only place where I always find 100% pure coconut water, freshly made the same day. It's 80 pesos per liter, but totally worth it! It's a tiny little shop that basically sells only coconuts and coconut water. The -
