I'm moving to Montreal from Eastern Ontario and want to surround myself with more French speakers. I've heard the Plateau is a bit too anglophone, so I'd like some recommendations.

I've been shocked by the elementary school in our neighborhood. Despite repeated complaints of violence, intimidation, and humiliation of 6-7 year old students, the school's administration protects the teacher. The process to address the issue has been dragging on for 7 months, and I'm starting to think that my child will need to develop a thick skin to survive this school. This year, it's the cafeteria monitor who yells at students for minor infractions, and I'm at my wit's end. I've heard that going to the media with evidence of abuse is a good way to get the school to take action. Can anyone advise on what to do next?
