There's a jazz club called the Reservoir Lounge downtown which I thought was so fun when I went. Second this. This is one of my favorite places in the city.
Head to Church Street for a fun and safe Halloween experience, where you can blend into the crowd and check out the costumes. Just get off at Wellesley and walk east, you can't miss it.
C'est What is a great bar that usually has music on weekends, it's basically a block away. It's located in the St. Lawrence market neighbourhood, and you can walk there from your current location.
The Only is a great beer spot and a friendly place to meet new people. It's located in a safe neighborhood with excellent Greek food in the area, and it's a short walk from Square Boy, where you can grab a homemade burger or chicken souvlaki on a bun.
Don't miss the underground dance party in the parking lot at Nathan Phillips Square. It's not too busy and really good, with people spending up to 30 minutes dancing there. Just be prepared for a line to get in, but it reportedly dies down to under 30 minutes after a while.
Sneaky Dee's is a popular spot for dancing and having a good time, especially on Saturdays, which feature 2000s and 2010s pop throwbacks. It's a diverse crowd, and you're unlikely to get hit on, making it a great choice for someone looking to go out alone. Plus, drinks are reasonably priced, with tickets costing $5 if you buy them early in the week.
