We're a middle-aged couple thinking of moving to Toronto and are considering the east end between the Danforth and Scarborough. We love doing stuff and going out, but don't want to feel stuck in a car-dependent suburb. Can you tell us what it's like living on the east side of Toronto?

The east end of Toronto has a unique charm that's hard to find elsewhere in the city. Being within a couple of blocks of the Danforth subway line gives you easy access to downtown, and the community has its own distinct vibe. Plus, the beaches along the lake are a great place to relax and unwind.

We moved to the Danforth 10 years ago because it was relatively affordable and had easy access to the subway. Since then, we've fallen in love with the area and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. The Danforth has a great mix of shops, restaurants, and community events that make it a wonderful place to call home.

We've lived in the Greenwood and Danforth area for 18 years and absolutely love it. The neighborhood has everything we need within walking distance, and we're just a 25-minute commute from downtown by transit. The ravine system is also a great resource for walking and cycling, and it feels like we're out of the city when we're exploring the trails.

As someone who's used to the hustle and bustle of Bloor-Yonge, I have to say that having two great coffee shops, Better Half and The Wren, within walking distance is a dream come true. It's a small thing, but it makes a big difference in my daily routine.
