Can I take community college classes while enrolled at a 4-year university?

I'm considering going back to community college to finish my AA in philosophy, but I'm worried about my university's approval and potential risks to my spot at the 4-year university. I want to swap majors and continue my education there, but I don't want to pay university tuition for lower-division work.

Neither a History nor a Philosophy degree has a clear job pathway. However, both majors can prepare you for a range of careers, including law, library sciences, or human resources. They can also provide a solid foundation for further education, such as a master's degree in medicine or law. If you're looking to minimize debt and time, it's worth considering this option.

I've had positive experiences working in libraries and learning resource centers, but I'm struggling with History and questioning my major choice. Many people advise sticking with it, but I'm not sure if that's the right decision for me.

While some majors may lead to higher-paying careers, History and Philosophy are not typically considered lucrative fields, except at the PhD level. If your goal is to pursue a higher-paying profession, you may want to consider a different major.

I'm concerned about my grades, especially since I'm planning to apply to a master's program. History is no longer as enjoyable for me as it was at community college, and I'm worried that my GPA will suffer if I continue with the major.
