I'm looking for a long-term apartment for my friend who was deported. He's been moving from one temporary place to another for two months and needs a stable place to live. We've tried searching online but it's been difficult to find something within our budget.

Before considering Mexico City, it's essential to assess your friend's financial situation. Does he have a stable income, savings, or a job that can cover the high rent in the city? If not, smaller cities might be a more suitable option.

In Mexico City, you can find many furnished rooms for rent by checking local newspapers and bulletin boards. Some of these listings may offer shared kitchens, although this is not always the case.

Your friend might want to consider moving to a smaller city, such as Manzanillo in Colima, which offers a tranquil atmosphere and a range of opportunities. I live in a large house shared with one other person, paying MXN$6,000 per month, and I'm located in a gated community just two minutes from the beach. Another option could be Querétaro, which might be suitable for your friend's needs.

We understand that Mexico City might not be a long-term option for your friend. However, we'd like to try it out first, given the resources available to assist him in the healing and acculturation process. Moving to a smaller city is definitely on the table if needed.
