I'm planning a vacation to Mexico City and I'm looking for some restaurant recommendations that are safe for someone with celiac disease. I've heard it can be challenging to find gluten-free options in the city, but I'm hoping to find some specific suggestions or places that people know are safe.

Visit the new fonart store at Argentina/calle donceles, and have a drink at Mayor, catty corner from the fonart gallery. There will be something going on or on display on the zócalo itself, usually.

I was pickpocketed earlier this afternoon at the Tianguis at the El Chopo market. It happened so fast I didn’t even notice or feel anything or anyone going into my purse and I should have kept my guard up but I guess I was too relaxed and was excited to see everything the market had to offer. The initial shock is done, but I’m feeling pretty bummed about it. I had already reported it and immediately locked all my cards. I’m just more worried about my ID being out there (thankfully I left my passport in the hotel). It feels pretty violating that I got targeted. Especially since this was my first time in CDMX and pretty sure I stood out as a tourist. Luckily I had my phone in my front pocket and only my wallet is gone…lesson learned.

I've visited Mexico City several times and really enjoy it, but this time I noticed a lot of foreigners on the streets. Almost every restaurant I went to was run by foreigners, and I couldn't find any traditional fondas. I'm not sure if it's just the area I was in or if the city is generally changing.
