This summer has been particularly grueling in Chicago due to the relentless rain showers. The city's history of receiving significant rainfall doesn't diminish the feeling of it being nonstop this year.

The summer and fall seasons have been unusually wet so far, which has led to a surge in mosquito populations. The standing water around the city seems to be a perfect breeding ground for these pests.

It's the Asian tiger mosquitoes specifically. They're a new invasive species that's been spotted in Chicago in recent years.

I had a striped mosquito in my outdoor grow tent this morning and used a salt gun to get rid of it. It's amazing how quickly they can infest a space.

A new type of Asian mosquito has invaded Chicago. These mosquitoes are active 24/7 and can travel long distances without needing to be near water. They seem to be here to stay.
