I've been a Canadian retiree in the Hotel Zone since 2021, enjoying fishing and beach life. I've had a prescription for alprazolam in the past, but after the DEA restrictions, I couldn't get it renewed. I need it now for panic attacks, but I'm worried about getting it seized by customs.

I'll be traveling with a senior who has had some heart troubles in the past, which are controlled via meds. We're staying at a major all-inclusive resort in the hotel zone. What happens in case of an emergency? Do hotels have a protocol and any decent hospitals nearby? Just want to be prepared.
