I was walking down the stairs at Sunalta station and found two debit cards. They expire in '29 and '31. Will probably destroy them unless there's a better idea?

You can drop off a found TD card at any of their locations on a Monday. Alternatively, you can destroy it, as the owner is likely to request a replacement.

I once tried to return a found TD card to one of their locations. However, they refused to accept it, despite my explaining that I had found it on the ground. I ended up putting it in their outdoor drop box.

When I worked at a TD bank, I would take in found cards, enter the details to identify the owner, and then contact the owner to inform them that their card had been found. If the card had not been deactivated or replaced, I would let the owner know and arrange for a replacement card. I would then destroy the found card.

I once discovered a lost TD card on a walking path. I contacted the bank's fraud department at the phone number printed on the card, and they cancelled the card and instructed me to discard it.

The bank also notifies the card's owner when you report a lost card.

To handle a found TD card, you can either drop it off at the bank or destroy it by snapping it in two and disposing of it.

It's best to destroy a found TD card. You can also report it to the bank, but they'll likely just cut it up. This is because even if the card hasn't been used, the bank can't verify whether the card number or CVV (the three-digit security code on the back) has been compromised. I know this from my experience working at a bank, where this would be standard practice.

If you find a lost TD card, you can take it to any of their bank branches and hand it in.
