Grand Palace crowd/ambiance in the afternoon?

I've been thinking of visiting Grand Palace in the afternoon before it closes, but I'm not sure what to expect. I've always seen it recommended to go early in the morning.

In Thailand, it's common to do things in the morning and then retreat indoors during the afternoons due to the heat and humidity. Bangkok is no exception, with temperatures often soaring in the afternoon.

The atmosphere at this venue changes dramatically in the afternoon, transforming into a lively day club with a distinctly different crowd.

I think the advice to visit at a specific time is overrated. People's opinions on the best time to go can be quite varied and often biased.

Personally, I prefer visiting around closing time, when the crowds have dissipated and the heat has subsided. The twinkling lights of the venue are particularly stunning in the moonlight, making for a quick and enjoyable visit before heading out for cocktails.

It's worth noting that this venue closes at 3:30 PM, which means there's no opportunity to visit during the evening or at dusk.

I've had success visiting around 6:00 PM, chatting with security and then entering the venue. If I could post photos, I'd be happy to share them.
