I'm a frequent traveler to Bangkok, visiting with a 19-year-old friend who wants to go to AETHER rooftop bar for one drink. We're curious if they check IDs and if it's worth going despite the touristy vibe.

It's difficult to predict whether they'll ID you, but it's possible even if you appear to be an older adult.

I prefer Norm over the other place, as it has a more appealing atmosphere and fewer rowdy tourists.

They do ID people, but it's 20 and up, and you'll need to bring your passport. They might be less strict on weekdays, but still enforce the rule during peak hours.
