I'm flying out of T6 with Alaska Airlines early in the AM, and I'll be solo with several excess baggage items.
I'm visiting Los Angeles for the weekend and I'd love to go to the Magic Castle for dinner tonight. I've heard it's a bit tricky to get in, but I've brought a nice dress and heels and I'm hoping someone can add me to their reservation list.
I see so many extra cars collecting dust in this town, and I wonder what the owners are thinking. All of these old cars have some value, but that value declines every day. But maybe these old cars owners think the opposite.
I'm looking for unique little items, mostly fun snacks, but also stuff like washi tape and post-its, to fill 25 small boxes for custom advent calendars. The price has to stay reasonable, under $10. Do you know of a good place?
I take the freeways to and from work almost every single day, and it always blows my mind how many people without any passengers just speed past me in the carpool lane. And I’m not talking exempt or EV cars either, I’m talking G-Wagons, old Corollas, a minivan, you name it. I’ve lived in LA my whole life, but when did this become a thing? Is it just some sort of unspoken rule or so loosely enforced now?
I've noticed that food prices in LA are getting ridiculous, and servers are getting paid a decent wage, but still expect a 20% tip. Should we be subsidizing servers with tips?
I don't remember Hollywood being that bad growing up. Did it get worse?
We're visiting from the UK in the first week of November with a family of 7 and staying at the Biltmore hotel in downtown LA. We're looking forward to exploring the city and want to know what to expect in terms of the overall vibe and culture. We've rented a people carrier to drive to most places due to the size of the family, but are also planning to use public transport. We've got a packed schedule with visits to Griffith observatory, Santa Monica, Universal Hollywood, and a Lakers game.
I live in an apartment complex in Van Nuys and have a neighbor with a small dog that barks relentlessly. I've tried messaging and emailing the on-site property manager, but they've been ignoring me.
I'm in the market for a used car and want to know when to pay for a pre-purchase inspection to ensure I'm getting a good deal.
I have a 2010 Honda Fit and I want to replace the factory radio for a head unit that has Bluetooth/Carplay. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to take my vehicle to get that done for me that isn't too expensive?
I'm planning to buy a bouquet for my friend's birthday and I'm not familiar with the area. I want to know where to park, the best time to go, and which flower vendors have the best prices.
I live in the San Fernando Valley, where I've owned a cafe for years, dealing with suppliers, staff, and paperwork every week. I've noticed people not pulling over for ambulances and fire trucks, which is a new behavior for me after living in LA for over 20 years. I'm wondering when this started and why it's become a problem in my area.
My roommate and I moved into our new apartment in Hermon and were startled by the coyote howls. We've heard them before, but it's different when you're right next to them. Do coyotes howl like they're in a pack, or is it just one or two?
I've been looking forward to seeing Rocky Horror at Vidiots tonight, but unfortunately, it didn't work out. I'm hoping to catch a screening this month without breaking the bank or having a performance in front of it.
I own a cafe in LA and deal with suppliers, staff, and paperwork every week. I'm looking for reliable solar installers that cater to LADWP customers with minimal power outages, specifically considering our street's occasional outages twice a year. I've found most online solar advice focuses on SCE, so I'm unsure if the information applies to LADWP's net metering.
I've always noticed that most people who work downtown in LA drive, even if they can afford not to. It's hard for me to think of an LA equivalent to the professional white-collar jobs in cities like San Francisco or Boston, where it's normal to take public transit to work.
Just got our electricity bill and it’s $826 for 38 days. We live in a 2 story in 90670. The AC was running for the first week overnight because it didn’t cool the place down. The landlord hired someone to put sealant and recharged the AC. Other than that we have the AC at 76-78 typically but for the AC to be the one to cause that high of a bill… This seems crazy high.
I'll be visiting LA in November and I'm thinking of revisiting some locations from a video game I played recently, like the Beverly Hills Hotel and Santa Monica Pier. I've been to LA before and I'm not sure if it's safe to walk around the hills, especially with no sidewalks and no parking.
