It’s official: Puerto Vallarta is turning heads as a top destination for medical tourism. Ever since my family and I moved here from Australia in 2020, we've noticed a steady stream of visitors seeking out the town’s renowned healthcare services. And now, it seems the local government is officially embracing this trend.
Earlier this week, the Puerto Vallarta municipal health department announced a new initiative to further develop the city as a hub for medical tourism. This includes investing in state-of-the-art facilities, training local medical professionals, and promoting the town’s reputation as a destination for high-quality, affordable healthcare.
As an expat dad of two, I’ve seen firsthand the benefits of this shift.
