How long does it take to get a temporary residence card in Warsaw?

Legal & Financial 3 answers • olena_warsaw
I'm a Ukrainian expat living in Warsaw and I'm looking for information on how long it takes to get a temporary residence card for family members of EU citizens. I've read that it should be issued no later than six months from the date of application, but I've heard that the actual wait time is much longer. Can anyone provide me with some information on the current wait times for temporary residence cards in Warsaw?

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but in Poland, residence cards for family members of EU citizens are usually processed within 3-4 months. If you're looking for more information, you can check the Polish government's responses to parliamentary inquiries on this subject.

I'm a spouse of a Pole and I can confirm that the wait time for temporary residence cards is often much longer than 6 months. I've heard of people waiting over a year and others are still waiting. Politics can also play a role in how governments disseminate information, so it's not always clear what the actual wait time is.

I think there's been a misunderstanding here. Family members of EU citizens typically get residence permits within 1-2 months, not 6-15 months. They have a separate line and don't have to wait as long as students or spouses of Polish citizens, who can wait for up to 1-2 years.
