Fanny Barry's Eco Woman Trilogy Ends in Tulum: A Journey of Healing and Writing
After 22 years of teaching, writing, and building a life in Tulum, Fanny Barry, co-founder of Tribal Tulum, has completed her Eco Woman trilogy with the release of Resolution. This latest chapter in Barry's life in Tulum marks a culmination of her personal journey and her creative output.

Barry, known to many as Joanne, first conceived of the Eco Woman series while working at a hazardous waste site in New Jersey. Her protagonist, Maeve, is an environmental engineer with superpowers, facing the Shadows, evil forces in human form, and the challenges of personal integrity. In Resolution, Maeve faces homelessness and a human trafficking ring, grappling with difficult questions about rescue and survival.
This trilogy, especially Resolution, resonates with themes of personal power, integrity, and resilience, making it a compelling read for young adults and adults alike. Fanny Barry's presence in Tulum since 2004, following her breast cancer diagnosis in 2003, adds a poignant layer to the story. Her journey in Tulum, from a retreat center for women with breast cancer to a successful author, showcases the transformative power of the place.
