I'm a southern Californian traveling to Toronto for a wedding in January. I've never been in subfreezing weather and only have light exposure to snow. How do I dress for the wedding and stay warm outside without melting inside?

The wedding will take place indoors. It's a good idea to bring a coat to wear over your regular indoor attire. When you arrive, you can remove the coat and place it in a designated area, where it will be safely stored until the end of the event.

In Cambridge, dining out with seniors is generally fine, unless there's a severe winter storm. The city has plenty of parking near restaurants, making it easy to access. Before your trip, consider packing warm clothing, such as jackets, hats, gloves, and scarves, as the temperature drops at each rest stop. For the wedding, wear boots or sturdy shoes to the venue, and bring dress shoes in a bag. Once inside, change into your dress shoes and leave your outdoor shoes at the coat check in a plastic bag. If you don't have boots, keep extra socks on hand in case your feet get wet.

I appreciate the advice on changing shoes indoors.
