Toronto’s New Liberty Village Park: Stunning Designs in the Works
Toronto is transforming a Liberty Village parking lot into a 4,900-square-meter park. Five designs are in the running, each with unique features like mist fountains, outdoor gathering spaces, and public art.

The winning design will be chosen through an international competition. Here’s a look at the five proposals:
- Liberty Village Living Room by Hapa Collaborative and MJMA: Oversized benches, a bean bag lawn, and a mist feature for outdoor gatherings.
- Ànakwad Park by CCxA and gh3: Inspired by clouds, featuring forested mounds, sheltered pavilions, and a dog area.
- Liberty Yard by Daoust Lestage: Tree-lined with rain gardens, shaded seating, and an open market area.
- Windborne Common by Nippaysage and Saucier + Perrotte: Designed for windy weather, with mist features and quieter spaces.
Exciting changes for Liberty Village, and a great addition for Toronto’s green spaces.
