Indigo Reveals Canada's Top 10 Books of 2026
Indigo, Canada's largest bookstore chain, has unveiled its list of the best books of 2026, featuring 10 exciting novels, including works by prominent Canadian authors. The top spot goes to Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke, a novel that explores a traditional American wife's life through social media.

Michelle Good's Eliza Sunshine takes the second spot, a multigenerational family saga inspired by the author's mother's life. Emily St. John Mandel's Exit Party, a post-collapse Los Angeles novel, is also on the list, followed by Manuel Garand's Murdoku: Around the World, a unique puzzle book that has sold over a million copies.
Malcolm Gladwell's The American Way of Killing, a non-fiction work examining gun violence in the U.S., rounds out the top 10. The list also includes works by Kathryn Stockett, Emma Brodie, and Ben Macintyre.
Indigo's Best Books list, compiled by more than 150 employees, aims to help readers discover new reads and offers a guarantee on returns for those who don't like a title after one read.
