Canada Worker Benefit Arrives Early for Toronto Expats
Starting Thursday, October 9, qualifying Canadian workers, including expats and digital nomads in Toronto, will receive their Advanced Canada Worker Benefit (ACWB) ahead of the long weekend. This timely payment ensures that low-income workers, such as those in the tech and creative industries, can manage their finances more effectively.

The ACWB consists of a basic amount and a disability supplement. Single individuals with no children can receive up to $1,665, while families can get up to $2,869. Those eligible for the disability supplement will receive a maximum of $860. This two percent increase is designed to keep pace with inflation and rising living costs.
Eligibility is based on net income and family situation. If you earn working income and your net income is below the provincial or territorial threshold, you may qualify. The CRA website offers detailed guidance, but key points include being a Canadian resident and being 19 years old or older. If you have a disability, you need to have an approved form on file with the CRA.
