As expats and digital nomads living in Tampa, we’re always on the lookout for cultural events that resonate with our diverse community. This fall, the Florida Orchestra is hosting a special tribute to the legendary film composer John Williams with a show celebrating his iconic works from Star Wars to Harry Potter. The event, John Williams @ 95: From Star Wars to Harry Potter, will take place on Sunday, November 1st at 2 pm at The Mahaffey Theatre in St. Petersburg and Friday, October 30th at 7:30 pm at the Straz Center in Tampa. Tickets are now available for both performances.

For those of us who grew up with these films, the music of John Williams is deeply ingrained in our cultural memory. His compositions have not only defined the scores of countless movies but have also become part of our collective consciousness. From the suspenseful scores of Star Wars to the whimsical Hedwig’s Theme from Harry Potter, Williams’ music has brought a whole new level of emotion and excitement to the movies we watch.

The Florida Orchestra is the perfect vehicle to bring this music to life, and the performances will be a must-see for both cinephiles and music enthusiasts. This event is a fantastic opportunity to experience the magic of John Williams' music live and in person, and it’s not to be missed.
