Festival de Cempasúchil Returns to Plant City: A Beautiful Remembrance
Every year, the Festival de Cempasúchil transforms the fields of Plant City into a celebration of remembrance and tradition. As an accountant working in Tampa, I often find myself drawn to the cultural richness of the area, and this festival is a perfect example of the community's dedication to honoring loved ones.

The festival, which runs from October 15 to November 2, is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is free to attend. Visitors can stroll through the fields of marigolds, known as *cempasúchil* in Spanish, which are believed to guide the souls of the departed back to their homes. This isn't a pick-your-own experience, but you can still explore the fields and shop for marigolds under the main tent prepared by farm staff.
Local vendors, cultural goods, and festive photo opportunities make the festival a family-friendly event. Leashed dogs are welcome, and professional photographers can capture memories on-site for a nominal fee. Parking is available for $10, with both cash and cards accepted.
While in Plant City, be sure to check out other local attractions like the Parkesdale Farm Market and The Strawberry Hut. These stops will complement your festival experience and give you a taste of the area's agricultural and culinary offerings.
