Siem Reap to Trat overland?

Siem Reap to Trat overland?

I'm planning a trip to Siem Reap next year with my wife and teenage kids, and then we want to go to Thailand. We were thinking of going to Koh Chang, which is accessed from Trat on the mainland. Has anyone done the route from Siem Reap to Trat overland recently, or is it easier to fly back to Bangkok and go from there?

Due to the closure of the land border, travelers have limited options for entering Cambodia. They can either fly into the country or take an overland route through Laos.

Trat has an airport, which provides an alternative to the overland journey. However, it's essential to note that flying is not a budget-friendly option.
