I'm a single mom living in Santurce, trying to feed my family healthy food despite the rising prices. We have a small business that uses local and seasonal ingredients, but it's getting harder to balance costs. I'm looking for affordable and healthy food options in Santurce.

I personally do meal prep. I mostly eat chicken, frozen vegetables from Sam's, and boiled potatoes. For breakfast, I have fruits, eggs, and a large container of yogurt. The yogurt is cheaper if you buy it in a bigger size. For dinner, I usually have something light like oatmeal. If you buy large packs from Sam's, it's cheaper than buying things at the store, except for chicken, which sometimes costs less than $3 a pound at Walmart.

I'm curious, do you really see a significant savings from buying at Sam's, considering the cost of the membership?

I haven't done the exact math to see how long it takes to break even on the membership cost in savings, but in many products, there are savings. I've compared prices of Member's Mark brand products, which are exclusive to this store, and they're cheaper than in other stores. For example, their sourdough bread costs a bit less than $5, but in supermarkets, I don't see it for less than $6. Their yogurt is also cheaper.
