Miss Universe 2026: A Historic Event in Santurce
The air in Santurce gets a little more festive as the news hits: Miss Universe 2026 is coming to Puerto Rico. The organizers have announced that up to 121 delegates from around the world will converge on the island for the grand event. The competition is set to take place in the Coliseo de Puerto Rico starting from November 8th.

The excitement is palpable in the market where I sell my tacos. Everyone's talking about the event, from the locals to the tourists. It’s going to be a big deal for Santurce, with three nights of competitions scheduled. The first night on November 21st will feature a traditional costume competition, followed by a preliminary round on November 22nd, and the final night of coronation on November 24th.
With so many people coming in, it’s going to be a logistical challenge for small operators like me. Every rule change can cost us. I hope the organizers take into account the needs of local businesses as they plan the event. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but it comes with a price.
The event will be open to the public, and there are still tickets available for the costume and preliminary rounds. The final night of the competition is sure to be a sight to see, with all the beauty queens showcasing their talents.
For those of you living in or visiting Santurce, make sure to mark your calendars. This is an event that won’t be forgotten anytime soon. Whether you’re a fan of the competition or just want to experience the excitement, it’s a must-see. Stay tuned for more updates as the event approaches.
