Supporting Vulnerable Students in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
More than 67,000 children and adolescents in vulnerable situations start their academic year in Tenerife with the support of CaixaProinfancia. This program, run by the Fundación ”la Caixa,” aims to help these students overcome poverty by offering educational reinforcement, psychological support, and family aid.
- CaixaProinfancia provides kits with school supplies, helping to ensure that children have the basic tools needed for the classroom.
- The program also includes psychological and logopedic support, as well as recreational activities and family workshops.
The initiative recognizes that financial struggles at home can affect a child's performance in school. By addressing multiple aspects of a child's life, CaixaProinfancia ensures that no aspect of their education is left unattended.
Marc Simón, the subdirector general of the Fundación ”la Caixa,” emphasizes the importance of providing the resources and support needed for all students to learn and develop.
For expats and digital nomads in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, understanding the challenges faced by these students can offer a deeper appreciation of the local community and its commitment to supporting its youth.
