...New Service Launched for Controlling Access to Protected Spaces...
Today, a new initiative by the Lanzarote Council has taken a significant step forward with the activation of a controlled vehicle service to manage access to various protected natural areas on the island, with the Volcán del Cuervo site serving as a focal point. The operational framework is based on the deployment of guagua vehicles, with the base located at Mancha. This move aims to mitigate the influx of visitors in areas like the Parque Natural de Los Volcanes, which has been under scrutiny for its potential environmental impact.

Local digital nomads and expats who frequently visit these protected spaces are excited to see the implementation of this new control system. The service will initially operate with guagua vehicles running on traditional diesel, with plans to transition to electric guagua units in the future once these are fully operational.
Residents and visitors alike are looking forward to the new system, hoping it will not only reduce the strain on these natural reserves but also enhance the overall visitor experience by ensuring more controlled and sustainable tourism practices in Lanzarote.
