I've been feeling unwell for over two weeks with a sore throat, congestion, cough, fever, and GI issues. I've taken Covid/Flu rapid tests and they came back negative. I'm curious to know what's causing this illness.

I think it's probably the current COVID variant. Has anyone else had this same thing going around and actually figured out what it is?

In New York, there's a surge in Covid cases, and flu numbers are also on the rise. In fact, flu is currently the leading cause of illness in the state. To minimize the risk, it's essential to wear masks, wash hands frequently, and stay home as much as possible if you're feeling unwell. Additionally, getting vaccinated against Covid and flu can provide significant protection.

I recently had a severe cold that lasted for three days, with symptoms including a sore throat, congestion, and a loss of voice. I also experienced chapped lips due to mouth breathing. The cough, however, lingered for two weeks. I managed to alleviate the pain and congestion with over-the-counter medication within three days.

My symptoms seem to be similar to what you described. I'm glad to hear that your gastrointestinal issues are improving. It's possible that I could have contracted two illnesses back-to-back. I've also considered the possibility of Adenovirus, as it can affect both the respiratory and gastrointestinal systems.

Wearing N95 masks again can help prevent the spread of Covid. It's essential to take precautions to minimize the risk of transmission.

Covid is having a profound impact on people's immune systems, making it easier for regular viruses like the common cold to cause severe illness in adults. If I hadn't taken multiple Covid and flu tests, I might have initially suspected a different diagnosis, but the accuracy of rapid tests can be limited.
