My husband and I are in our 30s, visiting Mexico City for 2-3 days in February. We're interested in local businesses, music, history, and wandering around. We speak some Spanish but want to brush up. We prefer public transport, DiDi, and less is more for us.

Staying in the Tlalpan area near downtown can be a challenge due to transportation issues. However, if you're referring to the town of Tlalpan, it's a different story. San Angel and Coyoacan, on the other hand, offer a more pleasant experience, with plenty to see and do within a 30-minute radius of popular tourist attractions.

Coyoacan and San Angel are charming, mostly residential neighborhoods. San Angel boasts a lively weekend market, while Coyoacan's market is open daily. If you're interested in visiting museums and other attractions, staying near Reforma might be a better option.

The historic center is highly walkable, allowing you to explore its many attractions on foot.

Many travelers overlook the benefits of staying near Reforma, where you can easily access the city's main attractions. The Juarez and Zona Rosa neighborhoods are also worth exploring, with their unique atmosphere and convenient location.

Neighborhoods like Chapultepec, Roma, Condesa, and Reforma are ideal for a short stay, as they offer easy access to the city's main attractions. However, if you're planning to spend time in the historic center, be prepared for trips of 45-60 minutes, depending on traffic.
