Step into ‘You’ve Got Mail’ Magic on the Upper West Side
Walking down the Upper West Side this fall feels like stepping into the pages of your favorite book. The Sunshinery, a locally owned gift shop, has transformed into the real-life Shop Around the Corner from the classic 1998 film. This weekend, the store is hosting two sold-out walking tours led by Nora Ephron tour guide Katie Orenstein, allowing visitors to relive the cozy essence of the movie.

Victoria Manoli, the events manager for The Sunshinery, sees fall as a special time in the city. 'Summer can be pretty harsh in the city… the colors change, the weather cools off; it's this softening of the city getting ready for the new season the start of school, being cozy, warm, being a little bit connected again,' she explains. The Sunshinery, which opened its doors during the pandemic, aims to contribute to the neighborhood with events and community-building activities.
For those missing out on the walking tours, the store offers a range of items, from gifts and books to 'You’ve Got Mail' themed accessories. The Sunshinery hopes to host more tours in the spring, making it a must-visit spot for anyone looking to experience the magic of 'You've Got Mail' in New York City.
