5.4 Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Boquete: Stay Alert

A 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck the province of Chiriquí, including the heart of Boquete, causing some panic among residents. According to the Institute of Geosciences at the University of Panama, the quake hit at 8:59 PM local time, with a depth of 13 kilometers, right along the border with Costa Rica.

The Panama Fire Department immediately mobilized emergency services to inspect hospitals and other critical structures. While no major damage has been reported, the tremor served as a stark reminder to stay informed and follow local recommendations.
