Can I get a Thai driver's license on a non-O visa?

I'm on the 1 year non-O retirement visa and I have a valid driver's license from America and an international driver's permit. I'm only interested in getting a scooter license, and I'm color blind, which might be an issue.

I paid 7000 baht for the auto license, which I consider a reasonable price. However, I'm sure you can save a bit by shopping around. The key difference is that an auto license and a motorbike license have distinct requirements. If you only plan to ride a motorbike, the auto license is essentially useless. Furthermore, some agents offer a 'VIP' motorbike license service, but it comes with a hefty price tag of over 15000 baht.

As I only need a motorbike license for now, I'm concerned that my color blindness might be a disqualifying factor in Thailand. Does anyone know if this condition affects eligibility for a motorbike license in the country?

The initial license fee for cars is 205 baht, while it's 105 baht for motorbikes. This information is easily accessible, and you can save money by not hiring an agent.
