The Puerto Vallarta Naval Museum will be open until 9:30 PM on October 31, marking its ninth annual Night at the Museum event. The one-day celebration includes live demonstrations, workshops, and music performances for all ages, with a special focus on the Mexican Navy’s 205th anniversary of its founding in 1821.

Admission to the museum is 60 pesos, or 45 pesos for students, teachers, children, and seniors. The event is taking place in downtown Puerto Vallarta, near the Malecón, and visitors can expect to see the Marine Corps Infantry and the Navy’s Search and Rescue Station (ENSAR) at their stands. Additionally, the Navy’s K-9 unit will showcase their capabilities, while there are also drawing and choreography workshops available for attendees to participate in. Visitors can also learn basic nautical knots, and enjoy live music provided by Dan Gutiérrez and Grupo Galeón.

Aside from the festive activities, the regular collection at the museum is also worth visiting. The institution boasts 16 exhibition rooms detailing the history of Mexico’s naval forces and features a navigation simulator. The event will also feature a navigation simulator for visitors to try piloting a vessel.

The Institute of Culture of Puerto Vallarta is collaborating with the museum to promote the event, which is taking place on a busy weekend. The Day of the Dead festival will be happening on the Malecón, which usually fills it with giant catrinas and altars, and the museum is located conveniently near other attractions such as the Puerto Vallarta Zoo and the Los Muertos Cemetery.

For those who plan to attend, it’s important to note that the museum will be closed on October 30 and the event is only open on October 31. Visitors can easily find their way to the museum by heading to Zaragoza 4, in the Centro district of Puerto Vallarta.
