Get ready for the fourth annual Cruce Vallarta open-water swim on November 14, 2023! This event offers a thrilling experience for swimmers of all ages, from experienced athletes to families looking for a fun day at the beach. As a fellow expat living in Puerto Vallarta since 2021, I’m excited to share the details that will help you plan your participation.

Puerto Vallarta’s Fourth Annual Open-Water Swim: What You Need to Know

Participants can choose from three distances: a 4.5-kilometer course, a 3.1-kilometer course, or a 1.5-kilometer circuit. Kids aged 9 to 14 can also join in with a 1-kilometer swim at noon. The race starts at Holi Beach in the hotel zone and finishes on the Malecón. Confirm the start time when you register, as it can vary.

Register online through November 10, with a fee of 1,450 pesos. You can pick up your race kit on November 13 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hotel Rosita. A safety buoy is required, and wetsuits, snorkels, paddles, and headphones are not allowed. If you’re already at Holi Beach for turtle releases, the long-course start is the same shoreline.

Finishers will receive a medal, and the top three times in each category will be recognized if at least five athletes participate. So mark your calendars, and get ready for a day of fun and fitness in Puerto Vallarta's beautiful waters!
