Las Fiestas Patrias 2026: Celebrating in Zona Romantica
The sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in rich oranges and purples. It’s September 13, and the air is thick with the scent of grilled meats and fresh tortillas, a reminder of the upcoming Las Fiestas Patrias celebration in Puerto Vallarta. As a baker in Zona Romantica, I’m excited to see how the festivities will bring the community together.
The streets of Basilio Badillo will be alive with the sound of mariachi music and the laughter of families enjoying the traditional foods and crafts. The local government has announced a series of events, from parades to fireworks, but it’s the spontaneous gatherings that make the true magic of Las Fiestas Patrias.
- Parade on September 15
- Fireworks display on September 16
As I mix dough for the bakery’s special fiesta bread, I can’t help but think about the sense of belonging these celebrations foster. Whether you’re a long-time resident or a new arrival, Las Fiestas Patrias is a time to celebrate the country and the community that has embraced you.
Zona Romantica resident since 2019. Runs a small bakery on Basilio Badillo.
