Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz, the president of Puerto Morelos, is leading the charge in promoting a culture of peace among the town's young residents. The second edition of “Puerto Morelos en Paz” was held at the Miguel Ángel González Quijano primary school, where activities focused on fostering respect, tolerance, and solidarity among students.

During the event, Blanca Merari emphasized that creating safe environments starts at home and in schools. She encouraged children to recognize and reject situations of abuse, and to practice honesty, respect, and solidarity in their daily lives. The local government is working with state and federal authorities to strengthen security and well-being, including fortifying the police vehicle fleet, expanding video surveillance, and training security personnel.

Additionally, Karen Román Flores, who is involved with the government's regional coordination for peace and security, highlighted that students can contribute to better coexistence in their homes, schools, and friendships through empathy and solidarity. This initiative helps instill these values from a young age, as the future leaders of our community.
