Festival Parrillero del Caribe Returns to Puerto Morelos: What You Need to Know

Are you a foodie or a digital nomad in Puerto Morelos? Get ready for the 5th edition of the Festival Parrillero del Caribe, set to take place on October 24 and 25! This event, organized by the city council, promises a weekend of gastronomic delights, with chefs from Mexico and Spain joining local parrilleros for a celebration of barbecue and culinary arts.

The festival will feature 22 parrilleros from Puerto Morelos, as well as chefs from Mexico City, Nuevo León, Querétaro, Jalisco, and Spain. With 40 stands, including 22 parrilleros and 18 for drinks and other experiences, there will be 18 different experiences to enjoy over the two days. Expect masterclasses, cooking classes, and tastings of meat, fish, and seafood, as well as wine, craft beer, and chocolate tastings. The lineup also includes live music from local bands and guest performers.

Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz, the mayor of Puerto Morelos, highlighted the importance of gastronomy for the destination and expects around 4,000 visitors this year, up from over 3,000 in 2025. With an estimated consumption of around two tons of protein, this festival is a must-attend event for anyone interested in trying the best of Puerto Morelos' culinary offerings.
