Blanca Merari Promotes Health Services for Puerto Morelos Women

Blanca Merari, the president of Puerto Morelos, announced the implementation of health services for women in the tourism sector. Over 80 hotel workers participated in breast cancer prevention and health check-up activities organized by the Municipal Institute of Women (IMM). The services were conducted at the El Cid and Dreams Jade hotels, offering consultations, rapid tests, and medical exams.

Arlette Escudero, the director of IMM, stated that the activities aim to provide health services to workers without disrupting their daily work. The event was part of the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month (Mes Rosa) and focused on promoting early detection and prevention of breast cancer. Personal from the Puerto Morelos Health Center provided guidance on breast cancer symptoms, including changes in breast size, lumps, and skin alterations.

Merari highlighted the importance of facilitating medical check-ups and reinforcing preventive measures for women in the municipality. The Municipality of Puerto Morelos will continue organizing health services and prevention activities for women during Mes Rosa.
