I need backup spots to work when my home internet is acting up. Looking for places with strong wifi, power outlets, and good coffee where I won't feel guilty sitting for 3-4 hours.

Ok I literally have a Google Maps list called "work spots PDC" that I've been curating for two years so you're asking the right person 😄

My top rotation:

Ojo de Agua on 30th Ave, not the 5th Ave tourist one. Strong wifi, tons of outlets, great smoothies. Very nomad-friendly, nobody gives you side-eye for camping. I run speed tests here regularly and it's consistently 25-40 Mbps.

Ah Cacao on 5th at Constituyentes. Amazing chocolate drinks and fast wifi. Pro tip: avoid 10 AM-noon when it's packed. After lunch it clears out and you can work in peace.

Mura Cafe near Gonzalo Guerrero. This is my secret weapon. Quiet, has AC (game changer), solid wifi. The owner is genuinely welcoming to laptop workers. Not on most people's radar yet.

If you need more serious infrastructure, Nest Coworking ($250 MXN day pass, $900/week) and Bunker have proper office-grade wifi. Not cafes, but Nest has good coffee and Bunker hosts cool community events.

Budget hack: Starbucks on 5th Ave. I know, I know, but the wifi is consistently fast, outlets everywhere, and nobody cares how long you stay. Also the Oxxo on 10th Ave has tables, AC, and wifi. A $25 MXN coffee and you're set.

Some things I've learned:
- Order something every ~90 min. Be a good customer and they'll love having you back.
- Early morning (8-11 AM) = best bandwidth, fewer people competing.
- Always test speed at fast.com before hopping on a call from a new spot.
- Keep your mobile hotspot ready as backup. Takes 30 seconds to switch and saves you from dropped calls.
