Why is gas shut off in PHs after an earthquake?
Housing 3 answers • Leandro Cardoso
I've been noticing that most of the PHs in my neighborhood have no gas, and I'm wondering if it's related to the recent earthquake. I know the water was cut off, but I'm not sure why they would also cut off the gas.

The water doesn't have explosive capacity.

In the city, the water was cut off for many buildings after the earthquake. It's probably because the owner thought like you.

They need to check for leaks, because unlike water, you can't visibly see gas and it's dangerous.
