Coffee Industry Steps Up to Support Earthquake Victims in Panama City
As Panama City continues to recover from the recent earthquake, the local business community is showing solidarity. The Chamber of Commerce and the Specialty Coffee Association are contributing to the relief effort by donating a percentage of the proceeds from the upcoming World of Coffee Panama 2026 event.

The event, scheduled from October 23 to 25 at the Panama Convention Center, will feature spaces for direct donations from attendees and exhibitors. The proceeds will be directed to the Panamanian Red Cross to aid those affected by the earthquake. According to Aurelio Barría Pino, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP), keeping the economy active is crucial for recovery.
This initiative not only supports the earthquake victims but also highlights the resilience of the local business sector. As a fellow expat in Panama City, it's heartening to see community support in times of need. If you plan to attend the event, consider making a contribution or simply spreading the word to help those affected by the recent disaster.
