Panama City Q&A

I've heard that during the pandemic, motorizados for Pedidos Ya could make up to $3,000, but I'm not sure if that's still the case. If someone knows how the business works and how much they can earn, please explain.

I was playing Tekken with my friend and we met some Panamanians online, but they were really unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. We used to play with a group of people from the city and the provinces, but they got really exclusive and wouldn't play with us unless we met in person.

I live in the Cabo Verde neighborhood and have seen the area deteriorate since the 2022 announcements of social projects to improve the quality of life. I've noticed an increase in poverty, crime, and neglect, with buildings left unpainted and trash and sewage overflowing. I'm looking for an update on the current state of the neighborhood and what's being done to address these issues.

I run a small laundry in Panama City and I've noticed that Caja de Ahorros advertises a 4% interest rate for their accounts, but whenever I calculate the interest, they always seem to pay less than what they offer. I'm not sure if this is a problem for small amounts, but for larger sums, it could be significant.

I'm considering buying a ticket to this coffee event next week, but I'm not sure if it's worth the $52 price tag. I love coffee, but I'm not sure if it's worth that much. I've seen the option to add a coupon when buying the ticket, but I don't know how to get one. Can anyone who's going to the event tell me if it's worth it and if they know how to get a discount?

I'm trying to reduce my Tigo Hogar bill, has anyone had success with calling the customer service number and asking for a loyalty discount?

My partner and I were evacuated from our classes during the earthquake and I left some personal items behind, including a folder and a wallet. We were in Estudios Generales.

I recently moved to Panama City from the interior and now my car is mostly unused, so I'm looking for ideas to make some extra money to cover the expenses of owning a car in the city.

Chilibre is part of the Panama district and feels outdated. I think it would be great to have a mall there, considering the area has a lot of space and a large population. For example, Los Andes Mall was a good investment for that area, and having a mall in Chilibre could bring more employment opportunities.

I was listening to this song and it mentions a 'bola de fuego' in Calidonia, and I'm curious to know what actually happened.

I've been working for a reputable company in Panama City for a few years now, and I love my job and my colleagues. However, the pay is low, and I'm worried that I'll be stuck in this situation for a long time. I've had other job offers with higher salaries, but I'm not sure if the environment will be good. I'm currently in my last year of university and will be graduating soon, at which point I'll be eligible for a salary increase. But I'm not sure if I should wait for that or take a chance on a higher-paying job now.

I've been trying to manage my debt for a while, but I'm not sure where to turn. I have approximately $25,000 in different debts, including personal loans, a car loan, and other obligations. Some of my debts are up to date, while others are in arrears, which has affected my credit score. I want to find a way to consolidate my debt, but I'm not sure if I qualify or what options are available to me.

I will be arriving in Panama very early (5 am) from Bolivia and staying for 2 days before returning to California. I have no idea about early check in as hotel has not responded. I don’t want to waste the day waiting in a lobby til early afternoon checkin. Saturday I already booked a water based day boat trip.

I'm in the process of applying to the Escuela de aprendices ACP program, and I've already taken the psicometrica and psytech Genesys tests. I just got the math test, but I've heard from friends that some people are still waiting to be notified about the next step. What's the next test after the math one?

I've discovered I have distant relatives of Chinese heritage in Panama, and I'd love to explore the community in Panama City someday.

I was talking to some friends who are visiting from the US and they were curious about the ownership of some well-known companies in Panama. They asked me if I knew which ones have been bought by foreign consortia, especially from Colombia, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala.

I've been noticing that most of the PHs in my neighborhood have no gas, and I'm wondering if it's related to the recent earthquake. I know the water was cut off, but I'm not sure why they would also cut off the gas.

We moved to Panama City with our two kids in 2022. I'm trying to figure out the best course of action during a minor earthquake, as my kids and I have already experienced a few and I'm not sure if we should stay inside or go outside. We've been leaving the house a few times already, but I'm looking for more guidance on how to keep everyone safe.

I'm trying to plan my evening and I want to know when the aftershocks usually stop so I can go out. I've been feeling anxious about the recent earthquakes and I just want to know if it's safe to go out.

My partner works in the building and told me it was one of the worst scenes she's ever seen. She said from her high floor, she could see other buildings swaying and people running for cover. I'm just wondering if anyone else experienced anything like that.
