New Lancang-Mekong Book House in Siem Reap: Building Bridges with China
Siem Reap is getting a cultural boost with the opening of the fourth Lancang-Mekong Book House at Bantey Sre Primary School in Banteay Srei district. This addition to the provincial landscape reflects the growing ties between Cambodia and China, offering students more than just books.
Opened on August 22, the Book House is a collaborative effort by the China International Publishing Center, the Beijing Zhongdao Public Welfare Foundation, and the Cambodian Chinese Evolution Researchers Association. It aims to enhance the learning environment and foster a love for reading among students.
According to China International Publishing and Distribution Center for Foreign Languages director Zhang Jinting, the initiative serves as a bridge, connecting people and promoting friendship. The Books not only bring extracurricular reading materials and learning supplies but also selected daily necessities to the school, significantly improving the overall learning experience.
For those familiar with the area, this development is a welcome addition to the educational landscape. Siem Reap, already known for its rich cultural heritage, now has another layer of international cooperation. The new facility is more than a book house; it strengthens the partnership between Cambodia and China.
