Cidra Raises Awareness of Alzheimer's with Family Walk on World Alzheimer's Day

The Government of Cidra organized a walk on Monday to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease and its impact on families. The event took place on World Alzheimer's Day, which marks the start of the disease and its progression from early forgetfulness to a formal diagnosis. The walk included seven stations representing different stages of the disease.

Participants included members of the Cidreño of the Eterna Primavera center, family members, and caregivers. The alcalde Delvis J. Pagán Clavijo emphasized the importance of creating awareness about the disease and the support services available in Cidra. The government administers the Cidreño of the Eterna Primavera center, offering support to Alzheimer patients and their families.

The walk aimed to represent the different stages of Alzheimer's, from early stages to the need for support services. The center provides meals, nursing care, and social work to patients, as well as activities to stimulate their abilities. The program also offers a break for family members and caregivers, who can use the hours to tend to their personal or professional responsibilities.
