Puerto Vallarta Joins Jalisco's Día de Muertos Festival in 2026
Puerto Vallarta has been selected as one of 11 host cities for the 2026 Festival de las Almas, a Día de Muertos event in Jalisco. The festival will take place from October 24 to November 15 and will include about 350 activities. The city will have around 28 activities under the name La Orilla de las Ánimas, focusing on the Malecón and historic center. Visitors can expect to see ofrendas, catrinas, and night programs along the waterfront.

Organizers have confirmed that families and visitors can attend the festival for free. The full program will be published on official channels closer to late October. This event is part of a larger festival organized by the state tourism secretariat and the Agencia Estatal de Entretenimiento de Jalisco.
The Puerto Vallarta Travel Pop Up event, which includes the Festival de las Almas, will take place on October 30. This is a great opportunity for locals and visitors to learn more about the festival and its activities in the city.
Arrived in Puerto Vallarta in 2021 from Netherlands. Still figuring things out, writing it down as it happens.
