Over 4,000 Students Ready to Return to Classes in Puerto Morelos
The sun is setting on summer and students in Puerto Morelos are getting ready to return to the classroom. Over 4,000 students are set to hit the books again, with local authorities making sure the schools are clean and safe for the upcoming academic year.
Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz, the mayor of Puerto Morelos, announced that the municipality is working on improving school environments. The 'Qué Bonita Mi Escuela' program is focusing on cleaning and pruning public schools to ensure a fresh start for the students.
"We want our children to return to school with enthusiasm, in clean, dignified, and safe classrooms," said Blanca Merari. The mayor also highlighted that education is a top priority in her administration, noting the ongoing efforts to support high-achieving students through scholarships.
"Each scholarship is a recognition of the academic effort and a support for families," she added. With over 4,877 students expected to return to basic education classes, Puerto Morelos is ramping up to meet the needs of its young learners.
