Places in Manhattan for someone with a wired jaw?
Restaurants & Cafés 5 answers • Vanessa B
My friend's jaw is wired shut and they can only eat thin liquids. We want to take them out to eat since they haven't left the house in weeks since the surgery. We found Springbone that has some broths, but are there other places in Manhattan that have thinner soups and dishes?

If you ask, most ramen places will let you order just the broth. The tonkotsu broth in the East Village is incredibly rich and filling. You can also look for restaurants serving bisques or pureed soups, as they're often thin enough to drink. Some upscale eateries even offer them as a starter course.

I agree with this suggestion and would like to add that pho places also let you order just the broth. Additionally, some sushi restaurants offer miso soup as a side dish.

Ramen and Vietnamese pho places are great options for ordering just the broth. Their broths are often rich and flavorful, making them a satisfying choice.

TabeTomo, a ramen spot in the East Village, offers a rich and delicious broth that you can order on its own. Their broth is a perfect choice for a light meal.

When I was preparing for a colonoscopy, I drank the broth from a pho place. It was a convenient and comforting option during that time.
