Isla Mujeres Unites for the Annual Desayuno del Tacón Rosa
On October 3rd, Isla Mujeres came together for the annual Desayuno del Tacón Rosa event, an initiative organized by the DIF Isla Mujeres as part of the Mes Rosa activities. This year, the event emphasized the importance of support networks and early detection of breast cancer.

Atenea Gómez Ricalde, the Mayor of Isla Mujeres, highlighted the community's role in supporting women undergoing treatment, saying, 'Today, we are here to tell our women that they are not alone; they have us, and together, we can support each other through tough times.'
The event also aimed to promote self-care and regular health checks among women. 'Early detection can make a huge difference, so we want our women to take care of themselves, get checked, and take advantage of the health services we are providing during this Mes Rosa,' Gómez added.
The DIF Isla Mujeres will continue with Mes Rosa activities to maintain support and awareness around breast cancer.
This event is a reminder for all of us to stay vigilant and proactive about our health. Whether you're a resident or a visitor, make sure to get your regular check-ups and support your community in any way you can.
